Description
Heinrich Pfeiffer (1874-1960) had a studio in the historic Fatio House in downtown St. Augustine. He was a senior resident teacher and member of the St. Augustine artists colony in the 1920s. The painting appears to be of a St. John’s River scene and is believed to date from the 1920s. It is in a driftwood frame that has some light scratches as seen in the photos. The painting is oil on artists board and titled “September” on verso. It measures approximately 13” wide, 14” tall. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner.
